Dec 11, 2008 - It's been some time since I last posted anything on here. I promise to post more in 2009 on here and on the other blogging site. It's just been a crazy few months. I hope you've had a great 2008 so far and are as excited about 2009 as I am.

Yes, I know the economy has been a disaster the past few months but let's focus on something that you can control - YOURSELF. If you don't focus on yourself - your most important "asset" then everything else will fall apart. You need to set your goals for yourself this year. Some of my goals are to lose 10lbs of fat and replace with muscle, build 5 more successful websites and continue working on my business, build better bonds with my wife, family and friends. That's just a few of them. Along with that I want to make this website as successful as ever.

Well, that's it for now! In your health, Doug

July 16, 2007 - Well, it's been quite awhile since I last posted on here. But I wanted to let you know, I've been testing some blogging software and I finally have a new blog up. Check it out here.

April 17, 2007 - Hi all! Sorry about the delay in the blog posting. I promised I would try and post more here and its already been a month since my last month. Sorry about that.

Well first off, if you haven't seen on the front page I'm going to be just using Kettlebell training and body weight exercises for the next 3 or more months. I'm getting ready to move and needed to put all my weight equipment in storage. I'm actually looking forward to just using KettleBells for the next couple of months. I'm also going to be mixing some of the BeachBody dvd's into the mix. I'm still doing the bike rides with the Fitcentric system. If you haven't done it yet, give it a try. We still have winter here where I live, so I'll be using the NetAthlon Web Racing system for awhile longer.

If you have any questions about anything training related email me. I'd be glad to help you.W ell I gotta run, but I'll continue my posting soon.

Have a great week! ~ DM

March 13, 2007 - Hi all! Wow, I can't believe how fast March is flying by. I just got back from a weekend trip to NC with my girlfriend, Jen. It was great to get out of NY for alittle while.

I started using the Fitcentric software about two weeks ago and I love it. It's such an awesome way to train during the winter months. I've tried a few courses thus far and really enjoy changing them up on a constant basis. My favorite course thus far is probably The Head of the Charles. I plan on trying some more as the weeks go on. Fitcentric (NetAthlon Web Racing) has a variety of courses. To see them all go here. If you're interested in training together with the software, send me an email. I'm looking to start a group.

Using the Fitcentric software is a great way to pass the winter months. Well I gotta run, but I'll continue my posting soon.

Have a great week! ~ DM

Feb. 26, 2007 - Hi all! I hope you're all doing well! I wanted to write here while I had a chance. I'm going to be using the old html style blog for now. I'm not really that impressed with the other blog software that I used for the other 2 postings so I'm going back to the old way for now.

Do you believe its almost March and spring is around the corner? Wow has the time flown by. I added a new article on the front page about just that, spring training. Seeing that spring is almost here, I thought I'd post on article I found about spring training. It's a really good read, so check it out when you have a chance. Besides that, I'm getting ready to hook my bike up to the Fitcentric software system. Its a really great fitness tool and the company support is great. Cheers to Bruce and his team. Their very helpful. If you're looking for a great tool to use while training in the winter and spring, check out the Fitcentric software (Netathlon 2.0). I'm sure I'll be using it for a couple of more months before I can start training outside again. For more information, please go here. The great thing about NetAthlon is the ability to challenge other people with similar interests. If you live in NC and I live in FL, we can setup a challenge and race together. It's great. No more winter blues.

That's all for now. But if you have any comments or questions, please contact me. I love hearing feedback. Have a great week! ~ DM

Jan. 5, 2007 - Check out our new fitness blog. Keep update with what we're doing. Trying new fitness software, new fitness programs, etc. I'm posting this information so you know what works and what doesn't. I want to make this website very interactive and fun for you. That's been my dream since I started this company. Email me and let me know what you think and if you have anything that you would like to see on this site. Cheers, DM

A reflection on how important it is to monitor your calorie intake ...

I want to explain the important steps in losing weight and the correct procedure to follow. Here's a scenario that I used for one of my clients, we'll call him Bill. He's been a client of mine for over a year now and he has seen moderate results since starting with me. Currently he wants to shape up for the summer so he would like to lose about 5 to 10 lbs of fat within the next 3 months. This makes it much easier to maintain his muscle mass, while losing body fat. First I had him log his calorie intake for the next 5 days, and then took the average of those 5 days. His average daily calorie intake was about 1900 calories. I then made a few adjustments to his workouts adding a few more core strength exercises (See "Bucking the Trend" below as a sample). I also adjusted his calorie intake by adding 200 calories more per day.

Bill's results since his adjustments two weeks ago: he has lost 5 lbs of body fat and increased his muscle mass by 4 lbs - resulting in the loss of 1 lb bodyweight. You may be asking what the point of this article is, well here's my point. If you want to lose weight, focus on losing fat not necessarily bodyweight. If you’re unsure about how to proceed, hire a qualified personal trainer to help you. With so many fad diet programs out there, I want to educate you on the correct and healthier ways of reaching and maintaining your new goal weight. - DM
